MWF Seeking Balance

People often share with me that they wish to bring more "balance" into their lives.  I often hear the words,  "I feel out of balance" or  "I want to bring more balance into my life."   Essentially, we all deeply desire to integrate our seemingly dual sides:  left/right; feminine/masculine; internal/external energies and  bring ourselves to that middle ground....our center.... our core.

My personal favorite balancing tool is Epic Eden Hot Springs, the twice yearly retreat in Eastern Arizona that I co-produce with Joy Light and many other members of my Tribe.   Diving deeply into nature, soaking in the hotsprings, connecting with my "family," basking under the starlit sky and laying naked in the Sun are essential pieces for me personally to find my "core."  However, for me, waiting 6 months for the Eden Retreat to take place to find my center, no longer aligns with my desire to be fully expressed at all times.

Below are some tools that I use when I am feeling  "off", "out of balance," or "out of sync" when the Eden Retreat is still months away:

CONNECT TO NATURE ~  Simply Go Outside!  I live in the middle of Tucson but if I simply walk out into my back yard, I am amazed how many birds, lizards and trees there are to connect me to nature instantly and that I am blind to when I get "busy."

MOVE! ~ I recently learned that there is a Tribe in Africa that "shakes" as part of their Tribal ceremony.  They shake and move every part of their body to the point of ecstacy and bliss.   I find that moving energy in any way I can dream up in the moment........ shaking my limbs, jumping up in the air, doing a handstand, hoola-hooping, bouncing on the mini-trampoline are all great tools for recharging myself and re-centering

BREATHE ~ Of course, right?   Yet if you take a few moments to breathe really deeply - in through your mouth and out through your mouth and then remain still for a few moments after,  I find I can reset my center in just a few minutes by simply breathing consciously and deeply.

PAUSE ~ Take a few moments in any part of your day and just allow anything at all that comes up to surface and be released without attachment or contraction.  Listen to your innate intelligence...Spirit.....your higher-self.   Take a moment to step away from your computer, your commitments and allow yourself a "pause" before making any decision big or small.

CONNECT ~ Reach out to a friend or family member and share why you are feeling off balance.   A FaceBook post can even suffice!

PLAY ~ I've been keeping my hoola-hoop by my desk and when I'm frustrated or overwhelmed, the brighte red and gold colors remind me to grab it and find my inner 7 year old and move some energy even if only for a few minutes.

ACT ~ Plant a new seed.  State a new  intention  for yourself out-loud.  Write in your journal.  Creativity is "action."  Take one small step towards Your Center.

And if you need a really big re-set, consider joining me at the upcoming Epic Eden Hot Springs retreat October 12-16, 2011.   Soak in the seven geo-thermal hot spring pools, connect to your Tribe, practice yoga, listen to amazing lectures from top speakers, eat healthy food prepared especially for You,  dance to amazing high vibe music and injoy a variety of "play"shops.

Blessings, Rebecca
